My research and consulting work centers on the use of digital tools and spaces in a variety of qualitative research contexts in the USA and abroad. I’ve been a tenured faculty member at the University of Tennessee, the University of Georgia, and East Tennessee State University.
International experiences have always been a priority for me, mostly recently as a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland.
My first teaching experience was in Lesotho, Southern Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer and over the years I’ve been a visiting scholar at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies in Germany, the University of Innsbruck, and the University of Tasmania. I have facilitated professional development events for the Indiana University satellite campus in North Macedonia (South East European University) and for University of Alabama International Programs in Quito, Ecuador.
